Its pay day its pay day its bonus day ! And I bought a book!
Richard told me last night that according to our budget for this pay, I could have $40 to buy a book. (snort of derision..get real, man!!) So he upped it to $60 but I couldn't budge him over that because we are buying wallpaper etc.. So ok, I will be content with that but I want the most bang for my buck! As I lay in bed last night fantasizing about boooooks ooooh boooooks (drool) I remembered that I have been wanting Love Is In The Earth by Melody but Scarlet told me its out of print!!!! Argh...so I go online to Chapters used books and there is a copy available for 12.00 used...with shipping it came to $18.90! That's cheaper than retail but it is used so I am hoping its in fairly good shape. Should be here in March! I hate waiting but I'm getting a dead useful book that has any crystal or stone that a witch would want to use! I've looked at other books but this one really does it for me. How to make elixirs, properties, etc... Awesome. Plus I have $40 left to spend at Melange...heeheehee. Hmmm, what to buy.....its so hard to choose. That why I really wanted a bigger budget so I wouldn't have to narrow it down too far...sigh.
Suggestions please!!!!? I like practical useful books. Some of my faves include The Fragrant Pharmacy, The Complete Book of Incense, Oils, and Brews, Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, ... I have read excerpts from some of Patricia Telesco's books and liked the practical down to earth info (Healer's Handbook in particular).
I must do groceries today I guess. Really don't want to though. I also need to shop for an evening outfit for a cocktail/dinner function we have to attend later in February. BLEAH!! I hate those things...sssssssoooooooo boring. Just park me at the bar and tell me when its over. At least I'll get new shoes out of it.
Oh well, enough of this.
I sent my journal into the city with Richard and hopefully he will drop it off at Melange by tomorrow so I don't flunk. Scarlet approved my last paper so journal work is the only thing to hold me back I think.
Off I go...groovy day y'all!

So tiiiirrred
What a whirlwind this weekend has been. I am so tired but couldn't sleep past 6:30 this morning. Coffee is not helping yet but I am only on my second cup..or maybe it is the third? If I want to accomplish my goals for today I may need many more.
Ben is wiped out and super bitchy this morning. Cameron cannot even say a word without Ben having a meltdown. I fear that he will lose his trip with Daddy to the Montreal Car Show if he keeps it up because going anywhere with fighting kids is no fun. He's in a mood and rather than just accepting that its him he must BLAME it on someone..that someone being Cameron. Then we explain that his foul mood isn't Cam's fault..the kid didn't even do anything to him but he still rages against Cameron or then he cries because we are "mad at him" or "mean to him". More talk etc and then he's back raging at Cameron for being so evil as to hum "Old MacDonald". Now, that seems innocent enough BUT Cameron is sly and knows that sweet innocent "Old MacDonald" is a temper trigger for Ben between them from waaaay back. Parenting should require a doctorate in child and criminal psycholgy and a licence to practice. I am left feeling shell shocked and sometimes raging myself. Its like a contagion, anger and negativity. ..it spreads and everyone in the house contracts it and its VERY VERY hard to shield yourself.
As Jess would say ...its time for a relaxing moment against the wall!!!!!!!!!!
Today I must: write my paper for CMS
Finish my journaling for CMS
Make smothered steak for supper (takes hours)
Go to grocery store for fixin's for smothered steak
make sure there are clean socks and undies for the kids for tomorrow morn
Vacuum and tidy so the house is less cluttered
Pass out?
Skiing was good yesterday. Very crowded and warm. Supper at R and V's condo was nice. She has great style and the house is alll just so. Very unlike our home where chaos reigns. I got great windo treatment ideas and admire her bravery with color. Its all so nice. A bathroom fit for a palace! Soo jealous. She taught me a secret of removing the marks from our stainless appliances: Old English furniture oil!!! Clean all dirt and grime away and dry it then wipe down with the oil...it simply gleams and NO MARKS! No streaks no finger prints no nuttin'! Thank the Gods I have found the secret! This is also on my list for today.
Better go have more coffee.

Whew
Tonight was the open house for CMS and what a great time!! My feet are killing me. Stupid heels.
Richard always said I was a social butterfly but since I do treasure my alone time I always laughed it off. He's right though..I do like being around other people alot. For me tonight was like a big party where we got to share our good times at CMS with the world (or at least the curious) and I got to see some of my favorite new people (Hobbes, Airea, Nathalie, Sam, Rosanne, Scarlet, Flavia...). Hobbes and Sam loved my challah for Imbolc and Eri gave it the Jewish seal of approval (thanks Eri!!). I got to see my lil Sammy again which was so great. I've missed my little MPRC buddy.
Speaking of the good ol' MPRC, even if I don't get the job at the store, these kids of mine are going into service de garde at school at least one day a week so I can get back to the desk. I miss all the nifty folk that came by on occassion. I just wish more came in because it really breaks up the shift.
And the job interview...Well, I was nervous as all get out so I was in a bit of a sweat. There is a lot of competition for the job so I probably don't stand a chance in the hot place of getting it...BUT I WANIT! wanitwanitwanit. I will accept whatever happens with good grace though..see how grown up I have become world? Me! Acting all mature!! I'm accepting stuff! (even donations) Maybe I'm just running out of energy as I get older... twisting myself up into knots about stuff just isn't worth it anymore. :oD
Tomorrow its our family ski day...woohoo! Mont Olympia here I come!
Wonder if I can blog from traction?

Wowsers........
I had an excitment last night (get yer mind outta the gutter). I went to class (last one...waaaaaaaahahhhh) and Scarlet let it be known the store needs part time staff. and if I was interested to apply. Now..to some thats no big deal but for me it is. Firstly, I was flattered that she considers me worthy of the shop (possibly). I respect Scarlet's knowledge and experience in these areas and for her to have a good opinion of my skills is quite lovely. I am very interested and must draft a quick CV...my old one is on the old hard drive...argh..and I can't find any hard copies. I quizzed the boys about how they would feel about lunch time and after school service de garde and they are all for it. YAY! That was a big worrying point for me. That and how late they operate for children to be picked up since I don't know what the hours would be but you know, anything is doable with enough will. It will all work out the way it is meant to whether I get a job or not.
Now that said, I hope I get it because it is a busy busy store! I have worked retail where business is sooooo slow that lack of sales is a panic point for staff. MUST make sales!!!! The desperation...the stomach aches....That and trying to find enough to do to fill the hours when you might only have 10 people in alllll day. This store is never dead! Not like I know dead!! Busy store means fun store. I love interacting with the people and helping them shop. I hate cash registers though....very intimidating and I panic sometimes when I hit a wrong key or make a mistake. I take copious notes on how to ring things in and void them etc so I don't mess up the cash. Those stupid machines! I hate them. its all their fault.
better get that CV ready and sent to Scarlet so she can decide to schedule an interview or not.

No Green Seats For Canada
I'm very sad and depressed. Not one Green seat in Parliament. Why should I be so sad? Well because I had hoped that this would be THE election that would bring more environmental and ecological awareness to the national government. I didn't expect a Green majority..I'm not totally daft! But one voice for the Earth would have been nice...more than nice. INSPIRING!
I was IMing with a friend back home. She votes Liberal. She says its strategic...??? I guess the logic of that method of voting escapes me. Stupid idealist that I am.
At least the NDP had a great showing.

Arrrgggghhh
I don't know what to do about childcare for the boys so that I can go back to volunteering at the MPRC desk. I'm so cheesed at their french tuor for changing her schedule yet again. This means no more Monday lunch hour lesson for the boys and no MPRC for me. I could send the boys to school one day a week with a bag lunch...thats no problem but the fact that Cammie is afraid of the cafeteria is a major issue. Its the noise and bustle that scares him. Too many people and too much going on.
I attempted to get them in with the one lady I know that takes care of kids at lunch and after school but she's full up. Icould just scream
I voted today and I'm not sure I voted right. It was a toss up between NDP (as always) and Green. I usually vote NDP. For some reason I decided to go Green this year. Something just pointed me that way. Some may say "well there's a vote wasted! They'll never win!" "May as well give Harper the keys now!" But what is the point of NOT voting your conscience??
The fact is that without a sustainable, healthy environment we have dick all! Who else has a common sense attitude about this world we live in. I know....,"blah blah blah Economy!!" but what kind of economy will we have when all our natural resources are gone? When we can't let our kids go outside for fresh air because there is NONE?? When the polar bears are all gone because the ice has melted?
"blah blah blah Jobs!" Well why wouldn't encouraging a stronger environmental policy end up creating jobs in the Eco industries?
" blah blah blah Health Care!" Everyone would get healthier if they could bloody well breathe the air and drink the water!
You just can't win..vote for crooks or vote the conscience...vote for the devil you know or try something new and radical..?
Do I choose to vote in a party that squandered millions and had scandal after scandal? Do I vote for a party that is run by an android? Do I vote for a party that jumps from allegiance to allegiance in a political tapdance? Do I vote for a party that only represents one province? Or vote for a party that is devoted to saving our Mother?
I love my Mother.

4) Coffee/magazine shop owner...woohoo I couldn't be fired!!!! But we lost
a lot of money on that venture. Never again.
4 movies I could watch over and over: 1) The Mirror Has Two Faces
2) Firefly dvds
3) Finding Nemo
4) CHICAGO
4 Places I have lived: 1)Halifax, Nova Scotia
2) New Glasgow, NS
3) Newburne, NS
4) Terrebonne, Qc
4 TV shows I watch: 1) House
2) Grey's Anatomy
3) CSI
4) whatever the kids or husband are watching. we don't have cable or satelite any more so I don't watch much TV. The View is on now to keep me company.
4 Places I have been on vacation: 1) Quebec
2) New Brunswick
3) Nova Scotia
4) PEI
4websites I go to every day: 1) http://www.scarletcougar.blogspot.com/
2)http://www.airea.blogspot.com/
3)http://jdhobbes.livejournal.com/
4) www.about.com for everything..healing, cleaning ideas,
parenting ideas, cooking, pagan ideas and links, links LINKS
4 Favorite foods: 1)Anything that I can put in my mouth
2) spaghetti and meatballs
3)Krispy Creme original donuts fresh and still warm
4) pistachios
4 places I'd rather be right now: 1) Halifax (in my sister's kitchen having a coffee)
2) the beach (in NS) strolling, swimming, playing with my

4) learning stuff from Scarlet, the most awesome teacher ever. And I am not SUCKING UP!
I can't tag...I don't know any other bloggers!!!!
We had an awesome weekend. I am officially becoming a skier!!!! I only wiped out 3 times and got the arm rest of the chair lift in the ass as we 4 tried to get on. that hurt most of all injuries incurred. The kids had a great lesson which allowed us to have time ALONE with thousands of other skiers and Richard taught me how to better control my speed etc. He's a great teacher sometimes...at least with skiing! This was only my 4th time on skis in my life. We ahd such an awesome day and each Saturday we will be doing it again. I've already given my orders for next Yule gifts: Ski bunny cuties ski clothes. I saw some nice ski outfits on the slopes...LOL I am such a material girl. Yet I try to fight it....sooooo conflicted!
Mont Olympia is so much nicer than Mont Gabriel where we've gone before. the boys have a hour and a half lesson each Saturday for the next 7 or 9 weeks and we will ski before during and after. the boys loved it so much! Super super time as a family. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
Sunday was slow and lazy with a trip down to Old Terrebonne to skate. The carnival is on (duuuh) so it was very busy. the ice is awful though. Next Sunday we will try and go back down but Richard wants to take the boys to the car show too. That would be nice. maybe I'll go browsing at Melange!! ha!
I am getting sad about class being over but on the other hand I am going to be free to do a few projects . Painting the bedroom is a big one. Ugly ugly blue room. Wallpaper must be ordered at the end of the month for the living room too. I'd also like to start a new quilt. i have been looking at Cameron's that I made and I am feeling the urge. My youngest grand-niece didn't get one yet, I was reminded by her mother my niece Teri-Lynn. She's so subtle...NOT! Having a grand niece makes me sound so old. I'm only 38!!!! Teri isn't super young either...I think she's over 30 now. Its just that I am the youngest of 5 ranging in age from 56 to 38. i was an aunt at 2 1/2 yrs of age!
Back to sad about class. I really looked forward to the class. it was my socialization and education time. I need to arrange childcare for my volunteering at the MPRC desk too. Next week.....

A New Home For The Pod
We we blessed to have the fundage to invest in a new much improved tower this January. YAAAAY!!!! But it came with the price of loosing my access to My Pod posting capabilities and the so called support function of Blogger is unsupportive. I asked for help they said you can help yourself. I said no actually i can't please help and I got the same form email saying that I could help myself. Argggghhhh! I am technologically inept! I have no idea what to do and when I did try I made it worse. So...Like Oya I am tearing down the house instead of re arranging things and here is my new home. I have uninterestingly called it My Pod 2. Thats so as I can remember it. Oy! The brain is taking a beating these days! Scarlet dahlin' I hope its easier on your poor dear eyes.
So...On with the show
Level one is wrapping up and I am actually breathing again. Last week I was stressing and overwhelmed. You know how sometimes you have sooo much to do in life (or thats how it seems) you don't know where to start so the list in your head..its like it starts to spin and then you start to hyperventilate and then the nausea cuz its like a spinny ride at La Ronde and I don't do good with spinning but as a child I LOVED it..wait..what was I saying?
Yeah..totally wiggy, I was. There is great advice for people like me..Sit your fat ass down and make a freakin' list! But when 99% percent of the list is stuff you don't WANT to do its a daunting crappy list. I finally broke down and wrote paper number one which teacher dear read and said was acceptable. i was way happy because I had planned on handing in TWO papers at once since I'd gotten going but I am technologically inept (see above) and forgot to hit a crazy l'il thing called SAVE and lost it. DOH. Since I like to share the blame I blame that kid from across the street who was over playing with my boys. they adore M and he is a good child at heart but veeeeeeerrrrry active and we have the whole language barrier thing happening. If that kid isn't playing a video or computer game (not allowed with guests in this house) then its like he doesn't know what to do with himself so he had to chase the cats and dog around.
In other homes this might be ok but our girls have never been played with like that and they all kinda freak out. My repeated comments of ( Les animaux c'est n'est Pas Jouets! Jeu calme, svp" didn't seem to be connecting with his little hyper brain. The added distraction of M and my kids is what I'm claiming made me do something sooo stupid as to not save. ok I know its my own damn fault but still.
Anyhooo, I now need to retype and revise my goddess paper and write my History of language/writing paper. And then I think I have everything done. I hope I pass.
I made the decision not to do Level 2 this term. Now I am heartbroken. No Scarlet..No Flavia or Serena or anyone to look forward to each week. (Rosanne will be teaching ..No Rosanne to look forward too!). Its on Saturday's so even if I changed my mind, at this time I still can't go. We started skiing on weekends 2 weeks ago and although we didn't this past weekend(torential downpours), it is the plan to go to Mont Olympia each Saturday. The kids are enrolled in ski school and we will be skiing together as well. Family quality time on the slopes. Its very important. sigh... Its times like these that I'm all for cloning..Or I wish I had Hermione's Time Turner so I can do everything I want.
I bought a cool book to cheer myself up. Witch Crafts(that purple one!)...Airea!!!...I BOUGHT one..nya nya. I hear you were drooling. As soon as I sat down with it I thought of you and Nathalie. You guys need this one, too. I bought Cunningham's Spellcrafts book Last year..no wait..maybe 2004 and I hated it. Terrible crafts..very simplistic and lame..BUT my friend loved it because of something in it so I gave it to her with joy. This book ( Witch Crafts)will not be leaving my clutches any time soon. hehhehhehminemineminemine.
So many reference materials, so little money. I love reference books..How to do things yadayadayada... Can't get enough. which brings me to The Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie Ann Worwood. Excellent book. All about how aromatherapy works and how to use essential oils for health, beauty, home and garden. Its super! A must have homemaking mommy reference book. Clean and disinfect without harsh chemicals, keep the family healthy without reaching for pills etc, soothe cranky kids....cranky mommies... You name it Worwood covers it!! Excellent.
Ok...so now we are all caught up and I have emptied my brain of some stuff that I just had to share with the global mind. I'm off to get a coffee and laze around a bit. I hope everyone has a fantabulous day and Scarlet, I'll be calling about how to retrieve that paper. its hopeless but I'll keep trying. Wall? Meet my head...
So...On with the show
